Venue: The Arts House Gallery 1 (1 Old Parliament Lane, Singapore 179429)
Out of Print is an exhibition presented by Sing Lit Station, in collaboration with graphic design firm Sarah and Schooling. This exhibition showcases the history and early development of Singapore literature, as well as the ability of modern graphic design techniques to inject fresh energy, curiosity and interest in forgotten literary works. Visitors will be able to learn about the historical importance of up to 20 titles published between 1965 and 1995, juxtaposed with contemporary reinterpretations of their covers by graphic design firm Sarah and Schooling. The reinterpretations will combine various media and design approaches such as typography, illustration, photography and varied printing techniques. Curated by poet Daryl Lim Wei Jie, Out of Print promises to educate, inform and surprise, with free takeaways and a weekend of informative and enlightening panels.
